July 30 – Monmartan Monet Museum, Picnic, Trocadero, and Dinner In

This morning we had a great time visiting the smaller Monmartan museum, which specializes in Monet. There was one whole floor full of Monet’s and we all enjoyed recognizing some familiar subjects in his work, such as water lilies, hay stacks, self portraits, and the cathedral at Roeun. Much of the museum is staged within the rooms of a beautiful historic mansion, which added a lovely atmosphere to viewing the art.

Just outside of the museum was another great playground park, so we decided to picnic there and let the girls enjoy the park while we eat – very delightful!

After lunch, Matt took the girls on the Trocadero square to the enjoy the fountains and sunshine.

For dinner Matt treated us to cooking steak kabobs with pepper, haricot verts (green beans) with onion, and grilled potatoes and we enjoyed the meal together at the appartment.
