This morning we explored rue Monfretart, a nice section of the city which adjoins the zooilogical gardens - Jardins de Plantis. This park has huge gardens with all sorts of flowers, plants, and trees to explore.. and a carousel!

As a break from walking the park we found some Moroccan pastries that were recommended in the guidebook. As a pistachio lover, I really liked them. There was also a generous use of coconut and honey. The girls tried them but they are happier with the chocolate and ice cream here!

After lunch Matt took the girls to Chateau de Vincennes - a true medieval castle from the 13th century. They had fun exploring the moat, castle walls, and rooms.
For dinner, we ate out late, like the Parisians. Our walk back home was nice in the summer night. It ended up a little bit longer than it should have been when we got a little of course, but the girls did just great. I've been really impressed with their walking stamina on this trip (the days of hauling a stroller along are becoming a distant memory...).

Paris Time
Hi Merideth, I imagine you are missing Matt now but still enjoying your special times there in Paris. It cetainly is the City of Lights! What memories the girls will treasure all of their lives. The foods look so good - even on the computer! Hope Matt got to the airport with no trouble and you and the girls can enjoy this time before Jessica comes. Won't that be special for her. Is your Mom going to Reding to help with the girls there? We are anxious to see you in person in just 2 weeks! Love, Mom
